Converting content from third party ADAS or vehicle dynamics engineering tools for the driving simulator
How can content from third-party ADAS or vehicle dynamics engineering tools be converted for use in Cruden’s driving simulators? Dennis Marcus reveals how it’s done in the latest article in our Content Series.
Much of a driving simulator’s value lies in its ability to integrate with vehicle dynamics models such as IPG CarMaker, CarSim or dSPACE ASM as well as for sensor simulation, traffic simulation, hardware integration and more. Lots of work goes into creating 3D environments that are relevant to certain types of testing and validation.
But how can you make the lower quality scenery graphics used in your offline sensor testing, work for the more demanding human driver in the driving simulator? You want to run your experiment over the same routes. To do the job properly, the 3D world of the engineering tools must be converted into something of a higher quality. This article explains how that can be achieved.
